Privacy policy
What this site collects about you, why, and for how long. Last updated 2026-10-19.
The Atys Workshop is run by Chris, a player, as a hobby. Chris is responsible for the personal data described here. For anything about it, email chris@mepham.uk.
When you send a message
The Report a problem and Request a mod forms store your email address and what you wrote, with the time it was sent. They are used only to read your message and reply to it. The legal basis is legitimate interests: answering the people who write in.
When you visit or download
Like any web server, the server records each request in its logs: your IP address, the page or file, the time, and what your browser says it is. These logs are used to keep the site running and to deal with abuse, and are deleted after 3 months.
The site also holds your IP address in memory for up to an hour, so that downloading the same file twice counts once and the forms cannot be flooded. It is never written to disk for this. The download counts shown on the site are totals only.
What is not collected
No account, no cookies, no analytics or tracking, and no adverts. The site loads nothing from other websites, so no one else learns that you visited. The mods themselves make no network connections and send nothing anywhere.
Messages are deleted automatically 12 months after they were sent. Server logs are deleted after 3 months.
Only Chris reads them. Nothing is sold or shared, except where the law requires it. The site runs on a server in Chris’s control.
Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of the data held about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to its use. Email chris@mepham.uk from the address you used, and you will get an answer within a month.
If you are unhappy with how your data has been handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
If this policy changes, the new version is posted here with a new date at the top.
